Legal support that won’t back down

When you’re thinking about hiring a attorney, it’s rarely for a happy occasion. When the need for an attorney arrives, it’s because you’re hurt, or scared, or out of options for solving a difficult problem. When you’re low on hope and energy, you need someone who can take that burden away from you. You need someone who will take on your fight as though it were their own.

At Meldon Law, we pride ourselves on how hard we’ll fight for our clients. Our Gainesville & Ocala personal injury attorneys are here to make this process easier for our clients and will explain what’s happening in simple terms every step of the way. Being an attorney isn’t just our job; it’s our calling. And we will not back down until we achieve a just result for our clients.

Compassionate Florida personal injury attorneys supporting your family when the unthinkable happens

Nothing can bring back a loved one who has died, and a money award can never bring healing to the grief you may be experiencing after your spouse or family member’s death. Even though money won’t heal such a devastating loss, it can help you and your family rebuild your lives after a wrongful death. A wrongful death lawsuit provides a way for families to seek compensation that can help them pay for things like:

  • Medical expenses incurred before your loved one passed
  • Pain and suffering experienced before passing
  • Lost wages and future income that your loved one would have used to provide for their family
  • Loss of your loved one’s contributions to your household
  • Lost parental comfort and guidance to the children a loved one left behind
  • Loss of companionship of a spouse

Contact the compassionate and committed Gainesville & Ocala wrongful death attorneys at Meldon Law to ensure that you are treated with care and concern as you pursue a legal claim after a loved one’s death.

Serious accidents can leave Florida Families in serious need

A major car, boat, or slip-and-fall accident can have a devastating impact on your life. After a serious injury, you could be unable to return to work for weeks or months. Your medical bills may mount, even if you have health insurance, based on the specialized care and rehabilitation you need. Life may never again return to normal, and all because someone else made a mistake. You don’t have to struggle through these dark moments alone. Compensation may be available, and the Florida accident attorneys at Meldon Law can help you get it.

Jeffrey Meldon is among an elite class of personal injury attorneys who has earned an invitation to both the Million-Dollar and Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forums, limited to the 1% of American attorneys who have won million- or multi-million-dollar awards for their clients. We at Meldon Law feel grateful for the communities that have supported our business over the 50+ years since Jeffrey Meldon first began practicing law. Thank you for taking the time to learn more about me. I have been a Florida Trial Lawyer since 1971 when I had my first jury trial in Gainesville, and I have been in and out of the courtroom ever since. As a Trial Lawyer I enjoy helping people get their lives back together after a serious accident or an arrest. I consider myself an expert in negotiating settlements as well as trying cases in the courtroom. I have the determination and experience to go head to head with the big and powerful insurance companies that try to take advantage of people who were injured through no fault of their own. I always fight hard to get every one of...

Thank you for taking the time to find out more about me. I am currently a partner with the Meldon Law. Before joining the Meldon law firm in 2009, I practiced law in Daytona Beach with the State’s Attorney Office for almost four years. During my employment as an Assistant State Attorney, I personally handled thousands of criminal cases ranging from misdemeanor DUIs to capital felonies. In 2008, the 7th Judicial Circuit State’s Attorney’s Office promoted me to the Special Prosecution Unit.

Maria P. Youngblood brings to the Meldon Law team over a decade of experience in the areas of personal injury and civil litigation. Maria most recently served as Chair of the Family Law Section for the Eighth Judicial Circuit and has extensive experience in contested and uncontested civil matters.

Yolanda was born and raised in Gainesville, Florida. She began her criminal law experience very early as a member of the Criminal Justice Academy at Newberry High School. She went on to graduate from Buchholz High School, while being dual-enrolled at Santa Fe College. Yolanda continued her education at the University of Central Florida, where she obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Legal Studies.

Oran 'Lott' Bullock was raised in Williston, Florida and he is the sixth generation of his family to live in Levy County. He graduated from Williston High School in 2009. After graduating, he obtained a bachelor's degree in Food and Resource Economics from the University of Florida in 2014. In 2015 he received his master's degree in Agribusiness, again from the University of Florida. He then went on to attend the University of Florida for a third time to obtain his law degree and in 2018 he graduated from the University of Florida with his Juris Doctor. He is the fourth generation in his family to obtain a graduate degree from the...

Chris Speziok is an experienced trial attorney who has handled personal injury cases throughout the State of Florida. He received his bachelor’s degree in criminology here at the University of Florida, then went to the Stetson University College of Law to focus on trial practice. He worked as a law clerk at a personal injury firm in St. Petersburg, FL during all three years of law school combining his education with hands-on experience.

Mark Pionessa is a Florida native and comes from a family of small business owners. He puts his experience and knowledge to use representing those who suffer personal injuries through no fault of their own. Prior to joining Meldon Law, Mark spent many years representing insurance companies and gained valuable knowledge of how they operate. He also learned the tactics necessary to be successful litigating against large companies with many resources.

Marko began his law experience in Gainesville as an assistant public defender working on a wide array of cases from misdemeanors to murder charges. Following his time as a defense attorney in Gainesville, Marko served as a prosecutor in Miami-Dade on a similarly large variety of cases. Working as both a prosecutor and defense attorney on over thirty jury trials has given Marko a unique perspective from both sides of the aisle that he now uses to provide his clients the best advocacy he can.

Kelly is originally from Michigan but has lived in Florida for almost 30 years so considers herself a southerner. She originally received her undergraduate degree from Troy State University and thereafter worked as a paralegal for a number of years. In 2004, Kelly proudly graduated from the University of Florida with her Juris Doctorate. She owned her own practice in Marion County for over a decade, worked as a Certified Family Law mediator, and then moved exclusively to the area of personal injury in May 2023.
