Meldon Law Attorneys Were Successfully Seek Early Termination of the Driver’s Probation

DUI and Criminal Defense

Gainesville Police Department officers observed a driver traveling 48mph in a 35mph zone and swerving within his lane. The driver was stopped and admitted to officers that he had a few drinks earlier that evening. Based on the smell of alcohol emitting from the driver, officers asked the driver to perform field sobriety exercises. He displayed lack of smooth pursuit and maximum deviation in both eyes during the HGN test and lost balance during the walk-and-turn exercise. He also placed his foot down during the one-leg stand and missed his nose during the finger-to-nose test. After being placed under arrest for DUI, the driver provided two breath samples of .230g/210L and .222g/210L.

The driver retained Meldon Law and we were able to negotiate the lesser charge of DUI above .08g/210L but below .15g/210L. Additionally, attorneys were successful in seeking early termination of the driver’s probation, as he had completed community service, attended DUI school, and complied with all requirements of probation.
