DUI and Criminal Defense

A Gainesville Police Department officer observed the defendant holding a 23.5fl oz can of Four Loko (an energy drink with alcoholic content). The beverage was identified by sight, smell, and label, and the defendant was identified by her Driver’s License.

The defendant retained Meldon Law to assist with this misdemeanor charge. We were able to negotiate with the State Attorney’s office and secure the defendant’s enrollment in a deferred prosecution program. In this program, the defendant was given four months to complete tasks that included charitable donations and volunteering in the community. The State Attorney’s office agreed to dismiss the charges if the defendant successfully completes the program.
