Two children die in a deadly vehicle accident

On March 1, 2009, a tragedy struck Gainesville and Ocala area: two children, ages 3 and 10, died as a result of the injuries suffered in a two-vehicle crash.

Early Sunday morning, a van with Tiffany Davis, her son, daughter and a stepdaughter in collided with a pickup truck driven by James Roberts. All five were taken to the nearby medical centers, where Davis's son and stepdaughter were pronounced dead. Being in a critical condition immediately after the accident, Davis is in a stable condition now. The driver of a pickup truck remains in a serious condition. 

The cause of the accident is still under investigation.

While all three children were wearing seat belts, Davis was not wearing one. It is still not clear to the investigators if Roberts was wearing a seat belt.
