Suzuki's GSX-R 1000 is under "voluntary" recall

Suzuki GSX R-1000
Heads up, The "Total Performer", Suzuki's GSX-R1000, is under voluntary recall as of the end of January 2009. Suzuki has sent buyers of the bike a letter about the voluntary safety recall for the models of this cycle made in 2005 and 2006. Apparently, the frame of the bike can crack in times of pressure on the front part of the frame suspension, specifically the frame near the steering neck causing the front wheel to break off.

If you have this model of motorcycle, Suzuki will patch the frame with an aluminum reinforcement, bolts and glue, if no cracks are found.  If cracks are present, they will replace the frame with one that has the reinforcement and glue and bolts already installed on it.

Here are my blogs about this recall:

Not quite the "Top Performer", Suzuki's GSX-R1000 motorcycle is recalled. Don't be misguided again!
