Pick-up Truck Rollover Accident Near Green Cove Springs

Two teens, unrestrained by safety belts, were ejected from a pick up truck near Green Cove Springs on S.R. 17 on April 25, 2009, in a single vehicle rollover accident. 

The teen driver, Kenneth Nettles, 16, was crushed underneath his pick up truck when he lost control after swerving into a median.  After the crash, a passersby astonishingly lifted the truck off Nettles' body, freeing him for air evacuation to Shand's Teaching Hospital, according to Jacksonville's Florida Times-Union.


More remarkable, the passenger, Richard Buckhalter, 16, who was riding unrestrained in the bed of the truck at the time of the wreck, was ejected with only minor injuries.
