The American Psychological Association, (APA) issued a News Release today about a topic that we have recently been writing on, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). In the APA’s release it revealed a newly released book, After The Crash: Assessment and Treatment of Motor Vehicle Accident Survivors, which discusses the topic of PTSD, as it refers to individuals involved in automobile accidents. The authors, psychologists Edward B. Blanchard, Ph.D., and Edward J. Hickling, Psy.D., from Albany Medical College, have examined current research on symptoms and treatments for individuals surviving a motor vehicle accident and present their findings in the first of its kind book on this topic. This book discusses symptoms of PTSD from depression to driving phobia, and suicide as well as support systems and treatment options and their effectiveness and much more.
