Attorney Tom Copeland received an appellate court decision..... Congrats, Tom and Bernie!

Posted on Jul 16, 2009

Attorney Tom L. Copeland and former Jeffrey Meldon & Associates attorney Bernard O'Donnell successfully defended their earlier victory in the case of a client whose driver's license was suspended by the Fl. Dept of Motor Vehicles following a citation for a civil offense commonly referred to as an ".02 violation".

At the DMV hearing, attorney Tom Copeland argued that the State did not prove that the police officer had legal authority to issue a citation because he was outside his jurisdiction.

The DMV ruled against our client but the decision was reversed by the Circuit Court appeal panel.

On July 01, 2009, the First District Court of Appeals in Tallahassee upheld the Circuit Court ruling in our client's favor by denying the Department's request for further appeal.
