Alachua County has implemented a new pilot program for certain DUI cases.

The State Attorney for the Eighth Judicial Circuit of Florida which includes Gainesville and Alachua County, Mr. William Cervone, implemented a pilot program in January 2007 regarding drivers charged with a first offense DUI.  It is a deferred prosecution program.
