23% of Florida Drivers are uninsured... Beware!

Florida has just been ranked along with New Mexico, Mississippi, Alabama and Oklahoma as the top five States in our country with the highest percentage of drivers on the road driving without the legally required insurance.  Independent studies recently released by the Insurance Research Council (IRC) have shown that 23% of all drivers in Florida operate their vehicles illegally and have no insurance at all, making Florida the 5^th worst in the nation for having uninsured motorists.   

This study also found a strong correlation to unemployment rates and the percentage of uninsured motorists.  Because of this, it is forecasted that the percentage of illegal drivers will only increase in the year ahead due to rising unemployment and the economic recession.

Massachusetts was ranked as the #1 place for the lowest percentage of driver's driving without insurance, only 1% drive illegally.
