Drinking and Driving Do Not Mix Well! If you are going to drink.....

How to Avoid a DUI Arrest and the devestation it can cause in your life? The best way to avoid a DUI arrest is to not drink and then drive.

Here are some ideas to accomplish this:

• Don't drink alcoholic beverages if you are going to be driving.
• Walk to the bar or restaurant.
• Decide on a designated driver ahead of time and stick to the plan.
• Ride the bus.
• Keep $20 in your pocket for cab fare.
• Use the new Gainesville late night taxi program. Gainesville has set up two cab stands. One is Downtown on 2^nd Ave by the courthouse and the other is Midtown in front of the Swamp restaurant. The taxi stands hours are from 10 p.m. to 3 a.m. Wednesday through Sunday. Keep $20 for cab fare.
• Keep cab fare away from other spending money.
• Take a Party Bus or Limo.
• Drink at home.
• Call a friend or family member to come get you. Bring your cell phone when you go out.
