My child is 9 years old. Can he ride his bicyclein the street?

A:

Legally, yes, a child of any age may ride in the street, as long as they obey state traffic laws. However, the National Highway Traffic Safety Association recommends that kids 10 year and younger ride their bicycles only on the sidewalk because at that age, children do not generally have the maturity level to follow traffic laws.
