My child is 16. Does she need to wear a helmet in Gainesville while riding her bicycle?

This is a great question with very important safety implications. While Florida law only requires children under 16 to wear a helmet, as an accident lawyer, I highly recommend that a bicyclist of any age and in any town wear a helmet to prevent serious brain and head injuries that might result from even minor crashes. Head injuries may have lifelong implications and cause extensive disability.
