Does my child have to wear a helmet when riding a bike in Ocala?

A:

If your child is younger than 16 years of age, then, yes, they must wear a properly fitted helmet when riding a bike in Ocala and throughout all of Florida, it is the law.

As an accident lawyer that has seen the many tragic results of bike accidents I would like to add, it's not only the law, it might save them from a traumatic brain injury or serious injury, if they fall or have an accident.  In fact, I encourage every bike rider, no matter their age, to be safe, protect their brain, and wear a properly fitted, approved, bike helmet.
