Bikers have enough cards stacked against them when on the road riding alongside bigger and heavier vehicles that often do not see them. The very least they need is for their bike to hold together even under times of stress like collisions, pot holes, speed bumps or an occasional wheelie.
In addition to the lack of adequate insurance requirements to protect motorcycle riders in Florida, now they are being blamed by Suzuki, a leading motorcycle manufacturer, for defects that can occur under normal circumstances. Now, riders are being told by Suzuki that they will cover the bike under warranty for 5 years, but not the rider, even if the defect caused a motorcycle accident and/or worse injuries and damages. This is not fair, nor is it legal!
I am a regional motorcycle accident attorney/lawyer with my main office in Gainesville, Florida and here are my suggestions: Bikers, make sure to carry adequate insurance, and if you were injured on the GSX-R 1000 due to the defect in the frame structure, make sure to consult a lawyer right away.
Other info that may be of help:
Not quite the "Top Performer", Suzuki's GSX-R1000 motorcycle is recalled. Don't be misguided again!
Suzuki's GSX-R 1000 is under voluntary recall.
Don't be tricked by Suzuki! Suzuki GSX R-1000 motorcycle recalled.
I don't sell insurance: I "sell" being protected
Heads up to everyone on the roads in and around Daytona Beach
Motorcycle riders need to protect themselves NOW more than EVER
