Good News - On-line ATV Safety Classes.... Have a Safe Summer!

Good news, ATV riders of all ages can now sign up for an inexpensive ATV safety course at www.atvsafety.org or by calling 1-800-887-2887.

School's out for the summer, and many Alachua County residents are heading out to the woods on their ATVs. While a trip through the trees on a four wheeler may sound like good clean fun, remember that riding without a helmet can be extremely dangerous.

ATV's are a popular way to enjoy the rural landscape.  However, as an accident attorney that has seen the devastating effects of Off-Road Vehicle accidents, I can say that, among other forms of vehicular injury, few are more gruesome than ATV accidents.   Head injury and nervous system damage are among the most common results of these accidents.   Although there are many factors that can contribute to ATV accidents, the best way to minimize the risk of serious injury and/or death is by wearing a helmet!

• never ride on public roads,
• never use drugs or drink alcohol before riding, and
• ride an ATV that is appropriate for their size and age.
